Likely Senate action on medical marijuana bill shines light on liquor dispute with House

A rally bringing hundreds of medical marijuana advocates to the Capitol steps was held Monday morning to urge action on Senate Bill 1182, which would legalize medical marijuana in Pennsylvania.

Supporters of the bill say a vote will occur in the Senate as soon as next week.

Medical marijuana vote coming in final week of June

According to the committee chairman and the prime sponsor of the bill, a Senate proposal to allow for a medicinal marijuana extract will likely be brought up for a vote in the final week of June.

“I’m going to try to schedule a vote on that next week,” Sen. Charles McIlhinney (R-Bucks) told The PLS Reporter. He chairs the Senate Law and Justice Committee, where the bill currently sits awaiting action.
