Sen. Leach remains skeptical of Turzai abortion bill being enacted

During Wednesday's Senate Judiciary meeting, legislation by Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) that would amend the Abortion Control Act to prohibit the abortion of a child due solely on a possible diagnosis of Down Syndrome, was passed along a party-line vote. 

During the meeting there was questioning and debate mostly led by Senator Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery) who spoke with The PLS Reporter after the meeting and explained why he has doubts about the bill.

DePasquale announces new audit to gauge voting security

On Monday morning, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale stood with Secretary of State Robert Torres and Senators Mike Folmer (R-Lebanon) and Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland) to announce that he will be conducting an audit of the state's voter registration system to assess voting security before the 2020 elections.
