VIDEO: PA Cyber Charter Schools could see closures if Sonney bill passes

The PLS Reporter joined Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie) and the CEO of PA Cyber Charter Schools, Bryan Hayden, to discuss House Bill 526 and what might happen it were enacted.

HB 526 would require a student or their parents to pay for the student's education in a cyber charter school if the student's school district offers a full-time cyber education program.

If this bill passes, Hayden worries that it could result in the closure of most cyber charter schools that are located in districts where there are already cyber education programs.

White is retiring after spending nearly a quarter of his life in the Senate and he said he hopes somebody younger will replace him, possibly even his chief of staff.
