SWOT results show positive impacts from PA military installations

On Thursday morning, Lt. Gov. Mike Stack was joined by Rep. Mike Tobash (R-Schuylkill), Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) and members of the Pennsylvania Military Community Enhancement Commission to discuss the results of the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threat) analysis of military installations.  

Stack stated that the goal is to make sure that Pennsylvania's military installations are protected and jobs won't be lost to other states.

Wolf in Commonwealth Court brief: “Fair funding formula is only as good as the amount of money behind it.”

Gov. Tom Wolf this week filed a brief in the ongoing education funding lawsuit, disputing an earlier brief submitted by fellow respondent, Senate President Pro Tempore Joseph Scarnati (R-Jefferson).

 

The case, filed by six state school districts represented by the Public Interest Law Center and the Education Law Center in 2015, alleges that Pennsylvania’s education funding formula violates the state’s constitutional guarantee to a “fair and equitably public education.”

The bill would authorize courts to require an individual to wear an alcohol monitoring device as a condition of bail for repeat DUI offenders.
