More state funding leads to less tuition hikes for state-funded schools, right? It’s a logical thought, according to university students and Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

Budget bill passes House, makes it to Senate floor

The General Assembly’s 2018-19 budget bill advanced in leaps and bounds Wednesday, moving from out of the House and onto the Senate Floor by day’s end.

HB 2121, the state’s $32.7 billion budget for the next fiscal year, passed the House by a resounding 188-10 margin before arriving in the Senate and getting near unanimous approval in the chamber’s Appropriations Committee.
